My Philosophy

At the core of my counselling practice is a belief in the power of human connection and the ability of each person to heal and grow. I approach therapy with a holistic perspective that takes into account the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. This means that I not only address the thoughts and emotions of my clients, but also the physical sensations and experiences that arise in the body.

My ultimate goal as a counsellor is to help clients build a more compassionate, resilient, and fulfilling relationship with themselves and the world around them. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and that the therapeutic process can be a powerful tool for unlocking this potential.

My practice integrates the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I utilize diverse therapeutic techniques, including experiential psychology, somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems and transpersonal counselling psychology. This holistic perspective helps in acknowledging the interconnectedness of all aspects of oneself. By weaving mindfulness, self-awareness, and self-compassion into our sessions, we aim to facilitate profound healing and personal growth.

About Me:

I am a passionate advocate for mindful living and personal growth. I cherish simple pleasures like spending time in nature and enjoying cozy moments with coffee, tea, or a good book. Adventure and learning is integral to my life, and I love traveling and engaging in activities like mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, surfing, paddle boarding, running, and dancing.

 

In my downtime, I focus on friendships, community and cozying up at home savouring life's simple moments and staying present.

Education and Certifications

Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling Psychology, 2019-2022

  • Three-year program focused on integrating the study of consciousness and psychology to deepen understanding of self, relationships, and interpersonal dynamics.

Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Science May 2011

  • Focused on physiological and neurological sciences, with a strong emphasis on the mind-body connection. Applies evidence-based techniques in therapy derived from cutting-edge research.

Somatic EMDR training April 2024

  • 60 hour Somatic EMDR program at Embody Lab, deepening my expertise in blending somatic awareness, parts work with EMDR techniques and bi-later stimulation to more effectively address trauma and promote healing in clients.

Somatic Experiencing (SE) Beg training Levels 1,2 and 3 2023

  • Acquiring expertise in a body-oriented therapeutic approach that addresses trauma by releasing physical tension and trapped emotional energy. Enhances client support through increased body awareness and nervous system regulation.

IFS Circle 6 month IFS training program 2023

  • Led by Dick Schwartz, the creator of IFS, and experienced practitioners. Focuses on trauma, attachment, and neuroscience, enhancing the application of IFS techniques in clinical practice.

EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy) for couples with Sue Johnson

  • Specialized training focused on applying EFT techniques to enhance relationship dynamics, improve emotional connection, and facilitate effective communication between partners.

Mindfulness and Meditation Intensive Immersions - Vipassana

  • Intensive training in Vipassana meditation, focusing on developing mindfulness, deepening self-awareness, and cultivating emotional regulation through traditional meditative practices
