In our sessions, we’ll dive deep into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with the goal of fostering greater self-awareness and self-compassion. Utilizing a blend of somatic experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and experiential psychology, we’ll engage with various therapeutic techniques that encourage you to connect deeply with your body, emotions, and personal experiences.

Together, we'll work on developing effective coping strategies, uncovering and shifting patterns that may be limiting you, and building a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges, I provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can explore your inner landscape and move towards a state of greater peace and fulfillment.

Couples, Families & Groups

Couples Counselling: In both 60, 75 and 90-minute sessions, I prioritize creating a nurturing space where partners can openly express their feelings and challenges. Drawing from the philosophy and experiential style of Dr. Sue Johnson's Emotion Focused Therapy, as well as extensive training with relationship experts Catherine and Duane O'Kane, my approach to couples counseling is deeply informed. This background enables me to assist partners in building stronger connections and resolving conflicts effectively. I delve into each partner's individual experiences and their impact on the relationship, focusing on enhancing communication, deepening emotional intimacy, and fostering a stronger, more harmonious relationship for you and your partner.

Family and Group Counselling: In both 75-90 minute sessions, I provide a unique opportunity for families or groups to come together in a supportive environment. Utilizing insights from my comprehensive training, I guide participants through discussions and shared experiences to enhance communication, resolve tensions, and strengthen bonds within the group or family unit. Through guided discussions and shared experiences, we aim to improve communication, resolve tensions, and strengthen the bonds within the group or family unit. Each session is crafted to foster understanding and growth among all participants, promoting a more connected and supportive network of relationships.

  • What can I expect in our first session?
In our first session, we will begin by discussing the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will also talk about your history, goals, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. This is a collaborative process aimed at tailoring our sessions to your specific needs.
  • How long can I expect to be in therapy and how often do I need to come?
The duration of therapy and the number of sessions vary greatly depending on individual needs, goals, and the nature of the concerns being addressed. Some individuals may find relief and achieve their goals in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy to address deeper issues or maintain progress over time. Many people start therapy on a weekly basis, then gradually transition to bi-weekly or monthly sessions as they progress, before taking a break or completing therapy. Ultimately, the length of therapy is a collaborative decision between you and your therapist, based on your progress and goals.
  • Do you offer any consultations for new clients?
Yes, I offer a 15-30 minute initial consultation at no charge. This session allows us to discuss your goals, concerns, and any questions you might have about the counseling process. It’s a great opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other.
  • How can I prepare for my first session?
Come as you are. It's helpful to think about your goals for therapy or jot down any important points you wish to discuss. However, the most important thing is to be ready to explore your thoughts and feelings.
  • Is everything we talk about confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential and will not be shared without your explicit consent, except where required by law.
